Sound Effects
There are many times when it’s nice to have a barking dog react to someone at your door or a strange noise in the house when
you’re gone, but not all of us can have a dog! The answer... the Electronic Watch Dog! This unique circuit generates two differ-
ent sounds of barking dogs. You can select which “dog” you would like! Then when your electronic dog “hears” a strange noise it starts bark-
Unlike a real dog, the super sensitive microphone has adjustable sensitivity to control what activates it (I mean makes it bark!). The “dog” produces 2 watts audio
output at 4 ohms. This dog doesn’t eat dry or moist dog food, instead it eats 2-8VAC or 9-12VDC! And it’s a little guy: only 5.6” x 3”! You can order the handy
power supply below. If you’re not building the doggie into your own case or application you can also order the custom case set below. From Velleman.
(I believe
our real watchdog has a bit more than 2 watts output!)

This electronic chime generates three different available chime tones which can be selected by individual switch closures. Perfect for replacing that
old doorbell buzzer or bell. It can also handle three separate door sounds! The IC design provides a clean audio output of a third of a watt into
any standard 8 ohm speaker (not included). The circuit runs on 4.5VDC (three 1.5V batteries, not included) or 6 to 9VAC which is normally provided
by the old doorbell transformers! Just use that if you have one.
Terminals are included for three separate switch contacts, speaker output, AC, and 4.5V battery connections. The compact board measures 2.1” x 2.3”
and can easily be installed in any suitable location. For a great finished look, order the recommended case set below. From Velleman.

This cute little project authentically simulates the sound of a vintage steam engine locomotive and whistle! The unique design also pro-
vides variable “engine speed” as well as volume, and at the touch of a button the steam whistle blows! Includes a small 8 ohm speaker so
all aboard when you’re done building the kit!
Great for model railroads, sound effects for radio and stage, or just plain fooling around! Runs on a standard 9V battery (not included). Measures 3.9” x 3.3”. From Velleman.
(Could have used this with my old original Lionel set that was given away and is now worth a fortune!)

Just like the good old days of the mechanical door bell, this little kit reproduces the
classic “ding-dong” sound through its built-in speaker. Plays it twice when triggered.
Use the built-in push button or wire external switches. Runs on 9-12VDC. Measures
2.75” x 3.8” x 1.2”.

We’ve been known for decades for coming out with little mini-kits that produce the
weirdest sounds! Well, this one is a mere drip in the bucket! Somewhere between a
dripping faucet and electronic “chime” in a new car! Just like a drip into a bowl of
water! Use it where a unique sound is needed. Learn how a simple oscillator works
too! Drives any speaker. Runs on 4-9VDC.
(That O-Ring kit won’t fix this one!)

One of the coolest effects yet! This little kit gives you professional echo chamber
results at a fraction of the cost. It features line level inputs as well as an on-board mic
for the input. It also features adjustable output gain, echo level, and feedback level to
give you the customized sound you’re looking for. Output is standard line-level for easy
connection to your audio equipment. Runs on a standard 9V battery (not included).

Years ago we came out with this little kit that was quickly given the title “The Mad
Blaster” because it produced a nasty and extremely loud warble tone. If you need to
simply get attention, this little mini-kit producing a LOUD 15W ear shattering raucous
racket is certainly the answer! Drives any 4-8 ohm speaker, but if you’re looking for
maximum volume use a horn type speaker. Drives any speaker, but a horn type pro-
vides the loudest sound. Runs on 9-12VDC, 12VDC producing the loudest “blast”!.
